Kobra and the Lotus Perform at Sunshine Studios Live in Colorado Springs – Coming off their last album, Prevail I, that released in 2017 and which critics have stated, “is the band’s best album to date”, with various aspects of the album earning their own recognition. Kobra and the Lotus brought their tour to the Sunshine Studios Live in Colorado Springs for a show with Texas Hippie Coalition.  The band’s success  with songs “Light Me Up”, a single from Prevail I, broke into the Top 40 for mainstream rock on Billboard, peaking at #34 while also breaking the Top 40 on Mediabase active rock charts for several weeks. Their single, “You Don’t Know” also peaked at #53, with the music video being the band’s first YouTube video with over 1 million plays. They’ve also had great success with their pre-album release single, “TriggerPulse”, that was the band’s first Spotify release, that had over two million plays in its first six months.

As the band took to the stage, Kobra and the Lotus showed their old and new fans the strength and power of their music. Opening their set with “Gotham” from Prevail I, the Canadian rockers fired up the crowd for what was going to be an awesome show. Kobra Paige took the mic and with her long flowing hair and powerful voice, grabbed the attention of an already excited crowd and kept them hypnotized as she swirled her hair in every direction possible while mesmerizing them with her vocals. As they moved from song to song, Jasio Kulakowski and Ronny Gutierrez (guitars) and Brad Kennedy (bass), moved across the stage, often leaning on each other with smiles that added to the lights pouring onto the stage. Marcus Lee (drums) added his power, blending in with the rest of the band for an even sound throughout every song.

When the band broke into, “You Don’t Know”, (a personal favorite of mine) Kobra Paige‘s presence on stage was electric, grabbing the mic and showing everyone the passion she has for her music! It was exciting to watch and photograph. When their set was over, as I have seen before, all the members came out and met with their fans, signing autographs, taking pictures, talking, and making them feel special. It’s one of the many reasons I like seeing bands in smaller venues like Sunshine Studios Live and like to catch Kobra and the Lotus live.
