I recently had the chance to chat with Jake E and Jesper Strömblad of CyHra (pronounced sy-ra) late at night from their home city Gotenburg, Sweden.  CyHra is new project formed by the former Amaranthe and In Flames band members that also includes Peter Iwers (former bassist, In Flames) and Alex Landenburg (current drummer, Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody) and recent addition of Euge Valovirta (former guitarist, Shining).

Having followed the music of all of their former bands for many years, I was really excited to hear their album.  I got my hands on it a few weeks back and it completely surprised me with how unexpectedly good it is. You can see the album review here.

So when I had the chance to talk with these amazing artists, I jumped at the opportunity.  I had a number of questions from listening to ‘Letters To Myself’ that I wanted to ask them about, plus find out more about how the project came together and what’s to follow the upcoming release date and on into 2018.

The guys gave me candid answers and lots of laughs.  I hope that you enjoy getting to know these guys and learning about the CyHra project.  The album is out this Friday, October 20th via Spinefarm Records.  Make sure to pick up a copy and check it out for yourself. I’ve also linked their second single below the interview.

Also a personal apology to Euge if none of us pronounced your name correctly!
