Friday night Brad Paisley rolled into town for a night of county music at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA.  On tour with him in Seattle were Lindsay Ell, Chase Bryant and Dustin Lynch.

Fans were in a line that wrapped around behind the venue and one thing was for certain, they were all there to enjoy a night of great country music performances.  As I approached the venue on the long walk way from the parking lot, I saw a sea of cowboy hats, a ton of western boots all around to admire and many of the ladies were dolled up country style for the night.

First up for the evening was Calgary native, now Nashville, TN country gal Lindsay Ell.  Before this performance I’d never seen her before.  On the advice of tour photographer, Mike Savoia who was with her for their two Washington shows, I made a point to get to the venue early to ensure I didn’t miss her performance.  I am so glad I didn’t miss her short set.  She was absolutely amazing!  A very genuine country artist who was very personable with her fans in the audience. Even as she professed her voice was off during the show, you couldn’t really tell and her energy and interaction with the fans made her show even better.  She knelt down a few times throughout her set to take photos with fans, have fans sing along and shake hands with fans reaching out to her.  What a great way to start of the show.

Chase Bryant was up second for the night.  This Texas native surprised me throughout his entire set. His energy level was huge.  First Lindsay Ell who started the night, then Chase Bryant, both amazing artists full of energy.  Chase clearly came to entertain the fans.  He walked out along the stage that was extended out into the crowd and made his way back and forth across the stage to engage with fans all around.  Just like the artist before his performance, he also interacted quite a bit with the fans and put on a fun show.  He sounded great, as close to a record as you can get live. I was really surprised by his performance and would gladly see him again.

Following Chase Bryant was Tennessee native Dustin Lynch.  Dustin has a smile for days that made the ladies really excited as he strutted across the stage smiling and singing in an Incubus t shirt, classic tight fitting jeans, boots and a cowboy hat.  He easily reminds me of a young Clay Walker in his early performing days as a new comer to the country music scene.  Dustin was a bit rowdier than the performers before him.  He and his band all had a drink up on stage then he invited a fan in the audience (of legal age of course) to chug a giant beer that was more like 2 beers in 1 can. The fan happily obliged and chugged that beer quicker than the Death Valley desert floor soaking up water in the summer.   The crowd cheered the fan on and back to the music we went.  Dustin Lynch interacted with many fans during his set and reached down a few times to hold hands with eager fans.  All three opening performances were top notch, what a fantastic way to start of the night!

The main event was upon us as it was time for Brad Paisley to take the stage.  His stage was set with two long bars, one on each side of the stage and the band placed strategically around the bars with a huge LED screen as the backdrop.  As many know, Brad is a big supporter of our service members and during his show he invited many service members up on the stage to honor their sacrifices and to invite them to have a beer and watch the show from the onstage bars.  Throughout his show, the back drop had many images that changed with each song, some photos from growing up, stormy back drops, the American Flag, service members, veterans and so forth.  At one point during his performance, Brad stopped the show, walked over to a group of fans and handed a young boy his guitar and said, keep it, “one day it will be what gets you your prom date.”  The young boy was completely in awe that he was given his guitar, he couldn’t even respond as he held the guitar closely.  All through his performance he kept interacting with fans, taking a few fans cellphones from them and taking photos or video of himself on their phone and even went through one fans photos and joked about how there were so many photos of Dustin Lynch, but only one of him on her phone and jokingly told her to take her phone back like he was offended. His performance was like this all evening.  Tons of fun and not too serious.  A good night out for all the fans.  He even brought up the opening artists to perform with him during his set.  This was such an enjoyable evening.  All the fans were clearly immersed in the show and having  a great time.  If there’s a country show to catch, it’s definitely a Brad Paisley show!  Simply a great night out and family friendly!
