Festival season is upon us.  Whether you are taking part in festivals in the USA, UK or Europe, there is something for everyone to go see.  For metal fans, one of the tried and true traditions for festival season is Wacken Open Air.  This years’ WOA: Louder Than Hell is taking place August 3-5 in Wacken, Germany.  If you haven’t bought a ticket, Wacken Open Air is sold out, but…. you can join in the waitlist in hopes of snagging tickets that come available.

The All-In tickets include camping if fans choose to camp, otherwise there are accommodations in surrounding cities, but many have been booked so if you are still planning your trip I’d recommend booking as soon as possible.  If you don’t have an all in ticket  you can still camp, you just need to make reservation and if you don’t have a tent, you can rent one.  For fans choosing to camp that are taking the train, there are shuttle buses that meet up at the train station to take you to the festival area.  Check out the shuttle schedules for transport options.

Last year was another insane year of music and rain which brought the giant mud pits throughout the festival area.  Since then the festival organizers have been busy fortifying the area in hopes to help stave off some of those same problems this year.  Something newly added this year that festival goers are sure to appreciate is the beer pipeline that’s being built to get plenty of beer into the WOA festival grounds to keep the thirsty fans happy with beer on demand.

WOA has also partnered with the following organizations for 2017 to make the event an even better experience.  They are: Beck’s, Monster Energy, Metaltix, EMP, Metal Hammer, Telecom DE, 3SAT and Radio BOB! Rock’ n Pop.

Along with the new addition.. is a great festival line up!  There are so many great artists on this years bill that it’s going to prove to be a tough time choosing shows for many fans.  Some of my most anticipated performances this year are: SkalmöldMax & Iggor Cavalera return to Roots (their show in Seattle was completely crazy!), TurbonegroArchitectsAmon AmarthAlice Cooper, Grave Digger (hopefully less rain than at Sweden Rock!),  Lacuna Coil, Primal Fear and of course Accept!  These are just a few, the line up is so good this year that I know I will be moving between stages often!  What about you?  Who are you looking forward to most and who of the lesser known bands are you really in to that you think people need to check out?  I’d love to know who you are listening to, leave a comment below so we are sure to check them out!

So until August, keep rocking out and planning your time at Wacken Open Air!  Oh and don’t forget to pack some rain gear as always!
