John 5 kicked off his Season of the Witch tour Friday night in Fife, WA at Louie G‘s then did his second show on Saturday night at Tony V’s Garage in Everett, WA.  After hearing from fans that were at the tour kick off show I was really excited we would be out on Saturday night for the second show.

Tony V’s Garage was packed to standing room only capacity as locals LB (pronounced pound) opened the night up with some great rock music.  Sadly we missed the seeing the set due to being stuck standing in the entry line outside, but at least were able to hear their set.  Great choice for an opener, hope to catch them again soon to see them as well.

Second up for the night were Seattle locals Sin Circus.  Sin Circus just got back from some tour dates with Metal Church in the southern USA.  These rock guys put on a really great set with hair flying in every direction and lots of fun fan interaction.  Definitely one of the local fan favorites.

Next up was Seattle’s Witchburn.  This is one badass rock band!  Fronted by one hell of a female vocalist, Jamie Nova.  Witchburn ripped through tune after tune delivering the final warm up before John 5 hit the stage.

The moment of the night everyone was out for, John 5!  John 5 hit the stage with a led lit mouth piece, dramatic makeup, killer guitar and just started ripping away.  For those who’ve not listened to John 5, there are no vocals, it’s all instrumental.  The show was one killer guitar lick after another accompanied by wardrobe/accessory changes and of course multiple axe changes through out the show.  There were many styles of guitars, each suited to the perfect song and a fun theatrical experience that comes from a John 5 show.  There were lights, co2 cannons, masks, fog, light up guitars, a lava liquid filled guitar, tiny ones and banjo styles.

John 5 amazed the crowd as each song progressed through out the night.  Toward the end of the set John 5 and the Creatures performed a crazy compilation of tunes that everyone knew and loved.  It really set the crowd off and fans were even singing the vocals to the songs they knew.  This is a great tour to see  and I highly suggest you catch this tour if you can.  Since the tour just kicked off you have many chances to see this show, just not in the Pacific Northwest as those dates just happened.
