Less Than Jake, American ska/punk band, were in town Tuesday night at the Showbox Sodo with their Sound the Alarm Tour.  Accompanying Less Than Jake on tour were Pepper, Red City Radio and Kash’d Out.

One week into their tour and the guys are sounding great!  All of the bands on this tour bring some serious talent that makes for a really great night of music.

First up was Orlando band Kash’d Out who are signed to Pepper’s label, Law Records.  These guys were really good!  They have a  really strong reggae sound.  The crowd really got into these guys.  I am sure you will be hearing more from this new group in the future.  Definitely check them out.

Red City Radio was up next for the night.  These guys from Oklahoma City were pretty good.  They have an alternative upbeat rock sound and are clearly out there enjoying themselves.  I really enjoyed their set, another band worth checking out.

Third up for the night, Hawaii’s Kona Dub Rock band Pepper.  This trio has been making some great music together since 1997.  They grooved the crowd really good.  This group was fully energy and moving all over the stage during their set.  They got the crowd moving and dancing.  Toward the end of their set they were joined on stage by Buddy and JR of Less than Jake for a song and the crowd went crazy.  Pepper is a band you have to see live, these guys are really good.

Last up for the night, Less Than Jake.  These guys were manic from the moment they hit the stage.  They have such high energy and interact a lot with their fans during their show.  One lucky young female fan was pulled up on stage with her dad for a song. It was really cool watching that interaction with one of the youngest fans, who by the way was wearing a Bad Religion tank!  Talk about some great parenting there, instilling live music at a young age!

Less Than Jake played a long 17 song set, that seemed to fly by with as much fun as everyone was having.  At times through out the set they toilet papered the fans up front, tossed out a bunch of balloons and encouraged fans to bat them around and then shot confetti out over the fans.  Fans returned that energy with a circle pit, lots of jumping around and many crowd surfers through out their show. If you’ve never seen Less Than Jake in person, this is a show  you need to make a point to see.
