Volbeat Returns to Seattle’s WAMU Theater

Help Get The Word Out By Sharing This With Your Friends

Monday night Danish rockers, Volbeat, returned to the Emerald City along with guests Killswitch Engage and Black Wizard.  It was a smaller crowd than Volbeat is used to having when they perform in our area, simply due to the mix to the holiday weekend and it being the weekend of Seattle’s music festival Bumbershoot.

Holiday or not, it didn’t stop the diehard fans from getting to the show.  The crowd was lined up an waiting before the doors opened for those fans who wanted to be as close to the front as possible and for others to snag one of the few seats in the back of the venue.

The show started off with our neighbors to the north, Black Wizard, from Vancouver, B.C.  Black Wizard is known to these parts as a “stoner” style rock/metal band.  They performed a short set but got the crowd warmed up for the rest of the night.  Their latest release “New Waste” is available now.

Next up on this bill was Killswitch Engage.  This Boston band will make anyone who’s never wanted to go to Boston reconsider.  These guys put on one hell of a show.  It was high energy, great lighting and the crowd was completely into them.  KSE is our on tour in support of their March 2016 release, “Incarnate”.  If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, what are you waiting for?  Great music coming from these metal guys!

Anyone who showed up after the first band got a serious warm up!  Kind of like the last time Volbeat rolled through town and had Anthrax opening for them, you really never know what to expect when they go out on tour or who they are going to surprise their fans with as the openers.  Maybe Volbeat, if they stumble across this, could convince Pretty Maids to come on their next USA tour and maybe Eclipse too?  That would be one hell of a show!

So there were no real surprises for me when Volbeat hit the stage.  This powerhouse rock band is always solid.  They always do a great show and it’s a great time at any of their live shows.  Even If you didn’t make it for the first two bands, Volbeat alone was worth the ticket!  But, do show up for all the bands, they all sound great.  The band did a full production show here in Seattle, huge stage, amazing lighting and high energy.  The fans thoroughly enjoyed the show, the band even played some Johnny Cash. Volbeat is out on tour in support of their latest album “Seal The Deal & Lets Boogie”.  Get your copy today where most music is sold.  They are wrapping up their USA leg of the tour during September, so if you have a tour date coming your way, get out and see this tour!  It’s one not to miss.
